Meghalaya : Release of two mine tragedy culprit on bail

A local court granted bail to Rightful Chyrmang and Shining Langstang, the two prime accused in the East Jaintia Hills mine tragedy in Meghalaya. The rescue operation is still without any success even after 15 days of the incident.

On June 9, bail was granted to Chyrmang while Langstang was released on June 11

Chyrmang lives in Sutnga village. He got arrested on June 1.

On June 2, Langstang surrendered before the police. He was arrested for violating the NGT order, which banned unscientific mining and transportation of coal.

Keroi has been recognized as the third accused and has moved for anticipatory bail through his lawyer. On June 24, the hearing will take place.

Keroi is reported to be on escape. He is Chyrmang’s brother.
