Meghalaya : Speaker admits ‘No Confidence Motion’

The ‘no-confidence motion’ placed against the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government by the Opposition Congress was admitted by the Meghalaya Assembly Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh on Tuesday.
Along with 10 Congress MLA’s, The leader of the opposition, Mukul Sangma submitted the motion through the Commissioner and Secretary of the Assembly.
The opposition was asked to bring at least 10 members supporting the motion, stating want of confidence in the Council of Ministers led by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the Speaker asked before admitting the motion.
The Speaker stated that the no-confidence motion would be imposed after more than 10 members supported the motion. The No Confidence Motion will start on Wednesday at 11 am after the question hour.
