For the ongoing pandemic situation, the Education Department of Meghalaya announced on November 16th that the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) is decided to be held in March-April, 2021.

The examination dates are yet to be finalized by the Meghalaya Board of School of Education (MBoSE).

There will be no selection test for sitting in the SSLC and HSSLC Examination.

A notification issued by the department read, “All schools including the unaffiliated schools should note the same and should not conduct any selection test at their level. Similarly, no selection test should be conducted by District Education officials for SSLC and HSSLC examination, 2021”.

As a consideration, students who failed to pass the selection tests held last year will be allowed to appear in the final SSLC and HSSLC Examination to be held in March-April 2021.

Private candidates can appear directly in the final examinations, provided the procedures are being followed.

The notification read, “All concerned should note that the cancellations of selection test and subsequent opportunity given to directly appear in the final SSLC and HSSLC Examination 2021 is done as a one-time exception to ensure safety and health of all the stakeholders because of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation”.

It was also notified that the present notification may not be treated as precedence.
