RT-PCR tests not required for Double Vaccinated Individuals entering Meghalaya

The Meghalaya Cabinet decided to lift a few restrictions effective February 11 during the Covid review meeting. Furthermore, under the revised guidelines, individuals who have been twice vaccinated will not be required to take RT-PCR tests before entering the state. Furthermore, all schools will reopen for classes 1 to 5 on February 14, with the exception of those in Shillong, which will reopen only for classes 1 to 5.

In addition, the cabinet made the following announcements during the meeting.

• The curfew at night will be lifted.

• People who have been twice vaccinated will only be allowed in bars, restaurants, and movie theatres.

• The odd-even rule for personal vehicles will be maintained.

• Funerals will not require any prior permissions.

On the other hand, the Covid-19 case load in the neighbouring state of Assam decreased on Tuesday, with 413 positive cases detected. There were eight deaths reported. Overall, 1.28 percent of people were positive. Today, 106 positive cases were found in the Kamrup (M) district.
