Foreign Cigarettes seize by Assam Rifles in Mizoram

A joint team of Assam Rifles armed forces stationed in Mizoram, along with the Customs Department, successfully recovered approximately 15 cases of foreign cigarettes.

Yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the market value of the retrieved foreign cigarettes is termed to be worth Rs 19.50 lakhs from the Indo-Myanmar border.

However, the Serchhip Battalion of the 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the command of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), and the customs department collaborated on the operation.

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles troops and Mizoram Police apprehended two Myanmar nationals along the India-Myanmar border on Wednesday after receiving information.

The continuous drug smuggling is a serious matter of concern in Mizoram.
