“Mizo nationalism crucial to Mizoram & Mizo people’s survival”: Zoramthanga

The ruling MNF commemorated the 42nd Martyrs’ Day on Monday, paying respect to Mizo heroes who gave their lives for the sake of the state and the Mizo people.

Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who is also the president of the Mizo National Front (MNF), said Mizo nationalism was the key driving factor behind the martyrdom of the Mizo heroes at a splendid observance of 42nd Martyrs’ Day held at Vanapa Hall here on Monday.

While stating that “each nation has its own nationalism”, Zoramthanga said, “However, the Mizo nationalism promoted by the MNF is unique and different from others as it stands for ‘God and the Mizo nation’.”

“We would have not reached up to this stage had we promote nationalism and function without the help of God. This is the covenant of not only the MNF but also the Mizo nation,” he said, adding that the MNF is one of the oldest parties in the country.
