74 grams of heroin was recovered by the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles from Zote in Mizoram.

Officials of Champhai customs department and a team of Assam Rifles personnel  conducted a search operation and which led to the recovery.

One foreign national from Bukphir in Myanmar was detained by the customs department.

The contraband seized is worth Rs 29 lakhs.
