Official sources said, after the blockade on National Highway-306 was lifted partly after the statement between chief secretaries of the two states, over 900 vehicles have entered the state from Assam since Monday, official sources said on Thursday.
74 Oil tankers, 22 LPG Trucks and 139 Light Motor Vehicles (LMV), all total 961vehicles have entered Mizoram via Vairengte after the NH-306, which was blocked by the locals of Lailapur in Assam’s Cachar district for more than two weeks was withdrawn, said sources.
After protestors removed the blockade on Wednesday night, 89 vehicles have entered out of 961, it said.
After district administrations of both states held a meeting with locals and drivers, the blockade was removed permanently by the protestors..
Around 6:30om on Wednesday, traffic movement returned to normalcy.
