Near the Assam-Mizoram border, miscreants blasted the Dholakhal LP School in Cachar amid 12-hour Barak Bandh imposed by the All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students’ Association, on Saturday morning.

Along with other parts of the district, security in Silchar were raised by the Cachar district administration after the Barak Bandh, said reports.

After the demise of a man from Lailapur last Monday, the bandh was imposed in as a protest against the incident.

The order stated, “The magistrates will take appropriate steps as they deem fit and proper to deal with law and order situation and will report directly to the district magistrate and also the additional district magistrate in charge of the Magistracy Branch from time to time about the law and order situation in their respective areas” .
