Mizoram : Schools, hostels to remain close in state

The directorate of school education, Mizoram announced in an order that the schools and hostels in the state will remain closed until further instruction.

The decision was taken by the state executive committee after a meeting.

“In continuation of this Offices’ Order even No. dated 3rd December, 2020 and in pursuance to the minutes of the meeting of the State Executive Committee vide No.B. 13012/83/2020-DMR dt. 14/1/2021 regarding re-opening of schools, temporary suspension of regular classroom teachings for all classes shall continue and all hostels shall remain closed until further instructions,” said the order.

James Lalrichhana, the director of school education, Mizoram issued the order in view of Covid19 situation in the state on Thrusday.

So far, a total of 4,310 people have been affected by the Covid19 infection. A total of 4,205 patients have been discharged in Mizoram post recovery. 9 people have lost their lives in the state so far. Mizoram currently has 96 active Covid19 cases.
