The Eastern Naga Student’s Federation (ENSF) was invited by the Chief Secretary on November 28, 2020 to discuss on the demands of the ENSF relating to NSSB and NPSC. The ENSF was asked to withdraw their ultimatum so that bigger decisions can be taken by the Government as soon as possible.

To look after the 6 point Charter of Demands related to NSSB, The ENSF was notified of the constitution of the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Y. Patton, Dy. Chief Minister. A Committee to look after the job reservation policy of the State is set up by the Government which will be headed by J. Alam, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. IENSF was told that the issue was brought on the table in the Cabinet meeting on November 25, 2020.

Non-implementation of P&AR OMs/Notifications (4 Charter of Demands) of the ENSF’s representation was also talked about in the meeting. Seeking relevant data from the NPSC, the Government will look after the specific matter and take actions accordingly.

The president of ENSF was assured by the Chief Secretary, Nagaland in his letter that the Government will look into their demands, but, both the Committees will need time to check all the relevant matters in relation to ENSF’s representation and will submit their recommendation to the Government for necessary decision.

The Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was issued a 7 day ultimatum on November 18th by the ENSF with regard to the Nagaland Staff Selection Board Regulation, 2020.
