Nagaland governor RN Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton have extended greetings to the members of the Yimchunger community on the occasion of Wangtsunuo festival.
In his message, Ravi said Wangtsunuo, which means “hut making festival”, was celebrated to invoke God’s blessings for a plentiful harvest and protection of the crops from natural disasters.
Stating that Wangtsunuo was a time to bond with one another, governor said the Yimchungers during the celebrations exhibit their magnificent traditions and customs wherein the youth familiarise themselves with their roots. On the auspicious occasion, governor wished good health, peace and prosperity to all.
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio, in his message, wished happy Wunthsunio to the Yimchunger community of Nagaland and prayed that the celebrations bring blessings of good health, peace and prosperity in everyone’s life.
Deputy chief minister and BLP leader Y.Patton, in his message, said that festival was a time to foster unity and friendship among brothers and sisters, to make it more meaningful. He urged the people to celebrate with caution as the ‘second wave of Covid was casting shadow of uncertainty.’
