The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will host its 29th general conference at the Naga Solidarity Park in Kohima on April 30 under the theme ‘Towards Harmony’. The one day conference will be attended by limited participants and in strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs.
NSF President Ninoto Awomi said that a 3 day conference, scheduled in Ukhrul, Manipur was cancelled due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. Only five delegates from 17 federating units and two delegates from the subordinate bodies of the NSF will be attending the conference.
Subenthang Kithan, the convener of the central organising committee, said that the theme ‘Towards Harmony’ was proposed keeping in mind the need to maintain harmony and live in co-existence with the neighbouring states, especially at the crucial time for the Nagas.
During the one-day conference, the election to the NSF executive council will also be conducted. Election Chief Commissioner K Elu Ndang, informed that so far, there are seven candidates in the fray for the election. He said that five candidates will be contesting for the post of President and two for the post of General Secretary.
Minister of Housing & Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum will grace the occasion as the special guest for the inaugural session and MLA Y Vikheho Swu will grace the valedictory session as special guest.
