Sikkim: Distribution of Farming Tokens to Farmers by Agricultural Minister

The Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services departments performed an awareness-cum-token distribution activity in Mangalbaria in Rinchenpong constituency, West Sikkim.

State Bank of Sikkim chairman D.B. Gurung and Major Minister’s assistant political secretary (West) Madhusudan Sharma had a Special presence and concerned minister Lok Nath Sharma attended the program as the chief guest.

Agriculture secretary Rinzing C. Bhutia, Animal Husbandry secretary Dr Sangey D. Bhutia, Horticulture director Sadan Tamang, Agriculture director Tilak Gazmer, Veterinary Services director Dr S. Pradhan, AH&VS additional director Dr Narad Cintury, district in-charge, field functionaries, panchayats, beneficiaries and farming community were also present.

The minister during the event presented tokens including 40 power tillers, 20 coil HDPE pipe, eight knapsack sprayers, a pulverizer, spices grinder, chaff cutter, garden tools, and a power sprayer under the Agriculture Department, and a power tiller, grinding machine, spray machine, greenhouse plastic (UV Film), and mulching plastic under Horticulture department.

Similarly, the farmer received tokens under the AH&VS department for sheep farming, goat farming, and chaff cutter, and also the Directorate of Fisheries for intensive fish farming and trout farming.

The minister emphasized the significance of the numerous tokens presented to the receivers and urging them to recognize their value in further strengthening the source of livelihood.
