Sikkim artist Deo Prasad Rai and his artwork “My Grandma” has won the Art contest organized by the European Lung Foundation (ELF).
24-year-old Deo Prasad hails from Rimbi, West Sikkim. His artwork received a whopping 7000 votes and was adjudged the winner. Deo Prasad received a cash prize of 5000 Euros, which was donated by McIvor Medicine Professional Corporation.
The theme of the contest was “Women with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease” (COPD), a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. Deo Prasad Rai will also be commissioned to create a series of images of women with respiratory diseases which will be unveiled in December 2020.
