Spice Jet announces daily non-stop flight between Delhi-Sikkim

In a further boost to regional connectivity in Northeast, Spice Jet has announced that it will introduce a daily non-stop flight connecting Delhi with Sikkim. 

The daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Gangtok, Sikkim will start from January 23. The flights will land and take off at the Pakyong Airport in Gangtok, Sikkim.

Notably, Pakyong Airport is the only operational civil airport handling commercial flight operations in the Himalayan State. SpiceJet will also be the first and only airline to offer daily direct air connectivity between Delhi and Sikkim.

SpiceJet will deploy a Bombardier Q400 aircraft on the Delhi-Pakyong-Delhi route. Speaking on the development, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet – Ajay Singh said: “We are delighted to launch new flights connecting Pakyong and Leh to the National Capital. Sikkim is one of the most beautiful and sought after travel destinations in India.”

“Our exclusive flights from Delhi to Pakyong (Gangtok) will cater to the growing demand of leisure travelers and backpackers who wanted to visit this beautiful city in the foothills of Himalayas,” Ajay Singh added.
