Tripura Cabinet approved hiring of 40 assistant professors in 22 degree colleges

On Tuesday, the Tripura cabinet approved the appointment of 40 more assistant professors for the state’s general degree colleges.

“The council of ministers under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday afternoon gave approval to appoint 40 more APs for 22 general degree colleges in Tripura,” Education Minister Ratanlal Nath told reporters.

“Tripura Public Service Commission has recruited 36 assistant professors (APs) and appointed them on a regular basis under the Higher Education department,” Nath said in January. The department is attempting to issue a posting order by February 15 of next year.”

The cabinet also approved the appointment of 22 Kokborok subject assistant professors to degree colleges. According to him, these positions will be filled through the TPSC.

According to him, the TPSC has provided a list of 57 lecturer positions for technical colleges in the state, and offers will be issued in their names soon.

If these 57 lecturers are appointed, the Education Minister hopes that there will be no shortage of teachers in technical colleges.

He also stated that 395 additional Assistant Professor positions have been sent to the Finance Department in order to provide quality education in the state’s degree colleges and to address the teacher shortage.

Apart from that, the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday approved the opening of all the school education department’s hostels on February 2nd. The COVID pandemic forced the closure of all of the state’s hostels.

He also claimed that 20 of the state’s 22 degree colleges have been brought under the NAAC. Lakshya, a project for coaching exams such as IAS, IPS, and IFS, has been launched. In the state, the National Forensic Science University has been established. In the coming days, efforts will be made to establish a National Law University in the state.

The education minister went on to say that a plan has been put in place to open an English medium college in the state starting in July of next academic year. In addition, in the last four years, the state government has made numerous decisions in the field of education.
