Accused of molestation, the residents of south-west outskirt of the city,  Sandip Barman, Asim Majumdar, Utpal Dey and Arijit Biswas were granted interim bail by a local court who were arrested on October 26 night after they made their molestation video viral in Social Media.

Bidyut Sutradhar, Assistant Public Prosecutor said, “Police had produced the accused
persons before the court seeking five days remand but the court did not accept it”.
Police sources said a procedural mistake was made where a test identification parade of the
accused persons  were not asked.

Under section 354A/354B/34 IPC and 67 of IT ACT, FIR was lodged against them.  Under those sections the police have to serve notice before arresting the accused which was not done. Resulting in which, the court had to grant bail against the bond
of Rs.50000 each.
