Tripura: Courts allows bail to all 23 members of I-PAC team

On July 29, the West Tripura district and sessions court granted unconditional bail to all members of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), rejecting the appeal made by the Tripura police. East Agartala police detained members of the IPAC, which is led by political strategist Prashant Kishor.

Senior attorney Pijush Kanti Biswas, counsel for the I-PAC team, told reporters that a case had been filed against 23 members of I-PAC, and that they had all surrendered to the court seeking permanent release.

“The assistant public prosecutor (APP) opposed not the petition and subsequently asked for imposing conditions. I submitted before the court that no condition can be imposed on the nature of the allegation made against them and the court agreed that no condition can be imposed,” Biswas said.
