Tripura : First journalist from state succumbs to COVID-19

After a week-long battle with COVID-19, 46-year-old reporter Jitendra Debbarma of Balaram Thakur Para, Champaknagar, passed away on Tuesday.
Debbarma also became the first journalist in Tripura to die from the virus.
He was the office cameraman for Chini Khorang TV Channel and was an active member of the Tripura Indigenous People’s Press Association.
“Jitendra was suffering from COVID-19 infection for the last seven days,” said Ranjit Debbarma, the editor of Chini Khorang.
He leaves behind two minor daughters.
