Tripura : Government to Recruit 3970 Teachers

3970 teachers will be recruited by the State Government in different categories, announced Tripura education minister, Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday.
65 Postgraduate teachers, 175 Graduate teachers for classes IX and X respectively, 2055 Graduate teachers for classes VI to VIII and 1675 Undergraduate teachers for classes I to V, said Nath.
1675 candidates are waiting for recruitment into different schools after qualified in the teachers’ eligibility test (TET).
Within the first week of January, the state government will recruit 1675 teachers.
The Minister said, “Among the TET qualified candidate, 650 undergraduates for classes I to V and 1025 graduates for VI to VIII are on the waiting list. A plan is under consideration for recruiting all of them by January next year”.
He further said that a proposal would be sent to the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) for conducting the TET.
After Supreme Court confirmed the verdict of the Tripura High Court in March 2017 10,323 teachers have been terminated from their services, terming the recruitment process of these teachers were faulty.
The state government had promised to give these teachers alternative government jobs, but this has not taken place so far.
The Minister added, a total of 1824 teachers have been appointed in the state during the time of the ruling government.
