During a combined operation by the Security Forces against Terrorists that took place at the Machil sector in Jammu and Kashmir, took the life of Sudip Sarkar, a Jawan of 169 Bn BSF from Tripura, on November 9.

He sacrified his life for the country while in a fight against Pakistan-backed militants in Kashmir. One terrorist was also killed during the encounter.

He resided in Banamalipur Dhaleswar of Agartala, the state headquarters of Tripura.
