A journalist in Tripura named Tapan Banik working for the Bengali daily Dainik Sambad– was attacked by miscreants on Friday evening around 8 pm at Fatikray in Unakoti district.

The attacked has been condemned by several journalists’ bodies of the state including the Agartala Press Club.

As per information, miscreants barged into Banik’s residence and attacked him, apart from vandalising his house completely.

Banik and his family were under home quarantine when the attacked took place.

Banik had earlier said that he was been constantly threatened by some local miscreants who are politically well connected.

This is the sixth attack on a journalist in the last one month.
