Tripura recieved a grant of Rs 875 crore from the 15th Finance Commission

Tripura received a grant of Rs 875 crore from the 15th Finance Commission following the support of the Central Government and the Finance Commission. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government on behalf of 37 lakh people in the northeastern state.

The 15th Finance Commission approved Rs. 400 crore for constructing two dams at Champaknagar and Champaichhara to remedy the water problem in Agartala municipal area and adjoining areas.

Hence Deb said “The construction of a ropeway at 51 Shaktipeeth and Matabari Tripurashwari temple, including the sound and light show project at Nirmahal, was sanctioned for Rs. 175 crores. This will open new horizons for tourism in Tripura,” 

The 15th Finance Commission also approved Rs. 100 crore for constructing a building complex to bring various government offices of the state under one roof.
