Tripura Police bans use of loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am

The Tripura Police Department has issued strict orders prohibiting the use of loudspeakers at night in the state.

Moreover, the use of loudspeakers has been prohibited after 10 p.m., and residents have been asked to strictly adhere to the new guidelines.

According to a statement from the DGP’s office, several complaints of loudspeaker nuisance have been reported to the police, and areas such as schools, colleges, hospitals, and courts have been designated as “Silence Zones.”

Furthermore, the use of loudspeakers is strictly prohibited within a 100-meter radius of these zones.

“No loudspeaker or any sound-producing instrument or a musical instrument or a sound amplifier shall be used at night time from 10 PM to 6 AM except within an Auditorium, Conference Rooms, Community Hall, Banquet Hall or during a public emergency”, the statement added.

Under no circumstances, loudspeakers or other sound-making instruments be permitted in the “silence zone” within a radius of 100 meters from any School, College, Governmental Hospital or Court, it added.

However, the general public is asked to follow the above-mentioned instructions. Any violation of the preceding rule will result in legal action.

Moreover, the public is also encouraged to report any violations to helpline 112, according to the press release.
