Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz has been accused for allegedly molesting a female crew member & arrested on 2nd November allegedly for molesting a woman crew member.

He has been arrested by the police in Gondia, some 150 km from Maharashtra for outraging the modesty of his co-star. According to reports, Raaz (57) was in Gondia since October 20 along with around 50 casts and crew for the shooting of Hindi feature film ‘Sherni’ in the adjoining Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.

Significantly no one from the film’s unit is willing to speak about the incident on record, this is just the kind of protective cordon that grows around perpetrators of sexual misconduct in the film industry. But it would be interesting to see where this Vijay Raaz narrative goes from here for Vidya Balan who plays the hero in Sherni. She has in the past spoken out strongly against sexual harassment at the workplace and also categorically stated she would never again work with director Sajid Khan with whom she had done Hey Baby early in her career. Khan was hit by multiple charges of sexual misconduct in 2018 after which Vidya publicly distanced herself from Khan.Vijay Raaz has featured in over 50 Bollywood films and is popularly known for his act in films like ‘Welcome’, ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, ‘Mumbai Xpress’, ‘Bombay To Goa’, ‘Company’ and ‘Monsoon Wedding’ to name a few. Vijay Raaz had marked his directorial debut with the 2014 release – ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore’. He will also reportedly feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which stars Alia Bhatt in the title role.
