1. Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea were in an ad for an underwear line that was taken off because it was too explicit.

Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea were featured in a commercial for a Swiss underwear brand in 1998. This commercial was quickly taken down because it was deemed “too harsh for Indian sensitivities.” Several women’s organizations objected to the commercial, and protests were held.

2. Gauhar Khan was smacked while conducting a live programme for being a Muslim lady wearing a short dress.

While anchoring the grand finale of the singing competition India’s Raw Star on Star Plus, Gauhar Khan was smacked by a male audience member. “She should not have worn such a short dress as a Muslim woman,” the accused stated after being arrested by Mumbai Police for hitting and assaulting her.

3. Aamir Khan is said to have a kid with Jessica Hines, a British journalist whom he met on the set of Ghulam.

Jessica Hines and Aamir Khan were living together when Jessica became pregnant with Aamir’s child. Aamir is said to have urged her to abort the child or end their relationship. She went with the second option and gave birth to a boy called Jaan. Both the mother and the boy are based in London. Jessica Hines is a British journalist who is best known for writing an Amitabh Bachchan biography.

4. Twinkle Khanna unbuttoned Akshay Kumar’s jeans at a fashion show.

At Lakme Fashion Week in 2009, Akshay Kumar had Twinkle Khanna unbutton his jeans as part of marketing for a denim company. This sparked a backlash in India, which resulted in his wife’s detention for reportedly indecent behavior during the occasion. She was then freed on 950-rupee court bail.

5. Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt appeared on a magazine cover kissing each other

Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter Pooja Bhatt kissed while shooting for a magazine cover. Fans panned the film, and it quickly became the town’s most talked-about topic. “I’d love to marry Pooja if she wasn’t my daughter,” Bhatt added, adding fuel to the flames.
