Khecheopalri Lake: Santified Lake In Sikkim

Kecheopalri or (wishing lake) This religious place is believed to fulfill one’s wishes. The legend has it, if someone prays and sprinkles the water on oneself, his wishes are likely to come true. It is also said that no leaves can be seen afloat the lake despite being located amidst dense forest as the birds remove the fallen leaves from the water. Similarly, many legends revolves around the lake. It is the Tibbetan myth doing rounds in these parts of Sikkim, that this lake is blessed and if you pray for something good to happen, standing by the brink of this lake, it comes true.

The lake is evry astonishing and filled with a lot of fish. Through the mountainous terrain and forest road, but it is totally worth it. There will be many picture perfect moments to capture in your camera. This lake is a travellers’ delight. Khecheopalri means ‘heaven of Padmasambhava’, an 8th century Buddhist Master; and the lake is believed. The serene lake has references in Buddhist and Hindu mythologies. A common belief that goes around it is that Lord Shiva meditated in a cave above the lake.
