The morning battle with the bed in winter is hard, do you face the same thing every day? Well, it’s hard too, to motivate yourself and make a decision under the hotbed in winters, and if you’ve been taking some time off or haven’t had to endure cold-weather riding in a while, you may not be fully prepared for the frigid onslaught. So, what do you need to do to maintain riding as it goes freezing? For one, learn to dress for warmth on the bike. Although it’ll mean investing in winter clothing, it doesn’t have to break the bank.

The difficult phase is only the decision-making process because, after 10 minutes of pedaling, you feel the heat and regret the decision to overdressed because it might get uncomfortable, yes it is getting cold but that doesn’t mean that you will keep your bicycle aside and sleep all day, come on motivate yourself, and get out of your home. 

These tips may help you to get motivated to go out and improve your balance and push your riding to a new level. Who needs sunshine? 

Dress properly whenever you are going out 

You must be fully dressed in this freezing season, and winter ride is not a joke, Most of your body heat escapes through your head, so using a scarf under your helmet will help keep you warm. Wear either long-fingered gloves or mittens to protect your hands, and thermal socks to keep your feet warm. If it’s really cold, consider wearing two pairs of socks and use thermal shoe covers to keep the wind off your feet, and put layers but a lightweight jacket that keeps your body warm.

Don’t ever start your ride just after getting out of the house, what you are ready but your body is not, so, you should first warm your body up, rub your hands stretch a bit, Start your ride feeling warm, perhaps even a bit too warm. Have a hot drink in a warm room just before you step outside. This will allow you to warm-up on the bike more comfortably.

In winter the roads are foggy, so it’s hard for the drivers to see clearly, so it’s very important that you are visible to the drivers, you can Wear brightly colored clothing, and use reflectors and lights, even if you won’t be riding after dark.

Plan your route before getting out

Make sure that the route you choose must be clear, Otherwise, you may run out of energy or just get too cold and find yourself far from home. Identify a circuit near your residence that allows you to cut the ride short if necessary.

If you love company then you can choose a person who loves cycling as you do of course otherwise no one has the heart to go out in winters, It can be a more enjoyable experience, you can take turns shielding each other from biting wind, and sharing conversation make the time go by faster. It’s also safer and more convenient if someone has a mechanical problem.

Winter is the best season when you are going to love cycling on the mountains and warm your body up, it is the best way to exercise rather wasting your time on bed, and make yourself lazy.
