In the early hours of Tuesday, security officials claimed to have killed three unnamed militants in the Sopore confrontation (August 24).In Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla region, an engagement between security forces and militants began in Pethseer hamlet in the Sopore area.

According to a police officer, a joint team of police, army, and CRPF started a cordon and search operation after receiving specific information regarding the presence of terrorists in the region.

Terrorists opened fire on the search group as they roped off the probable location, prompting retaliation and the commencement of an encounter.
