Around 300 Indian nationals are expected to land in India today as part of India’s evacuation effort in the wake of the Taliban seizing control of Afghanistan (August 22, 2021). Eighty-seven Indians who were flown from Kabul to Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s capital, on board an Indian Air Force military transport aircraft on Saturday are being flown back to India on a special Air India flight from the central Asian city early on Sunday.

Two Nepalese individuals are also flying to India on the Air India aircraft, according to External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
