Rahul Gandhi’s ‘New India’ jibe to PM; says Statue of Equality made in China

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, spoke on Wednesday. He claimed that because the Statue of Equality, a 216-foot seated statue of Ramanujacharya, is made in China, New India is ‘China-nirbhar’ (China-dependent). Rahul Gandhi’s accusations are based on reports that China’s Aersun Corporation manufactured the 135 crore statue inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on February 5. In August of 2015, the contract was signed. According to reports, the statue was restored in China and transported to India in 1,600 pieces. It took about 15 months to complete the installation. According to reports, an Indian company was also competing for the contract.

The statue is said to be the world’s second tallest in a seated position. It’s made of panchloha, a five-metal alloy that includes copper, silver, gold, zinc, and titanium.

This bolsters Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over China. In his speech to Parliament, Rahul Gandhi stated that the Chinese have a clear vision of what they want to achieve, and that India has made the biggest strategic mistake by allowing China and Pakistan to become closer. “The Chinese have a clear idea of what they want to accomplish. India’s foreign policy’s single most important strategic goal has been to keep Pakistan and China apart. For India, this is critical. What exactly did you do? “You have brought them together,” Rahul Gandhi said during his Lok Sabha speech.

“I can clearly see without any confusion in my mind that China has a plan… We are all nationalists. So, let us discuss properly. I can see that China has a clear-cut plan. The foundations of their plan have been put in place in Doklam and Ladakh. Do not underestimate what we are facing. This is a very, very serious threat to the Indian nation… We have made huge strategic mistakes in J&K. We have made huge strategic mistakes in our foreign policy…” he added.
