On October 1, a man accused of killing a police inspector was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police.

“Police in Srinagar have apprehended the suspects in the assassination of Inspector Parvez Ahmad. Muheeb Bashir Dar, son of Manganwagi resident Bashir Ahmad Dar, has been identified, according to a police spokesperson. In Nowgam, a FIR was filed in the case.

It is worth noting that the inspector was martyred on the evening of June 22 this year while on his way to the mosque to offer prayers, during which he was fired upon by two armed terrorists. The arrested suspect is also linked to a number of other terror-related incidents.
