UP CM dispatches second team to Firozabad to investigate dengue outbreak

Within a week, the Yogi Adityanath government will dispatch a second team of health experts to Firozabad to identify the dengue variant causing the outbreak, which appears to be particularly dangerous for children.

The cases are being investigated by a three-member team from Lucknow’s King George Medical University (KGMU), led by senior paediatrician Dr S N Singh. Local doctors will be guided by the team on how to control the disease’s spread and develop treatment protocols.

“DENV-1, 2, 3, and 4 are the four serotypes of dengue viruses,” said AK Singh, additional director of the state health department. All are spread from person to person by the bite of certain Aedes mosquito species.
