Arunachal: Organizations submit Memorandums with Various Demands

The Nyishi Ethnic Students of Arunachal (NESA), the Arunachal People Front, the Pro-Dam Movement of Arunachal Pradesh, the Anti-Corruption Foundation, the Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Corruption Crime Control Committee, and the Arunachal Justice Forum have submitted a joint memorandum to the state government with a list of demands.

The organisations demanded that the government relocate the Chakma and Hajong refugees from Arunachal as soon as possible at a press conference held here on Tuesday. They also demanded a written assurance from the state government regarding the refugees’ relocation from the state.

NESA president Biri Chatum, speaking on behalf of the organisations, also urged the government to resolve the Assam-Arunachal boundary dispute. “The BJP is currently in power in both states. Chatum requested a written assurance from the state government in this regard, as well as a resolution to the long-standing vexed boundary issue.
