NPCC to launch crusade against “unfaithful government”

NPCC launches Crusade Eastnews

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) announced on Monday that it will conduct a “crusade” against the government in Nagaland called the “unfaithful government” in the state.

Kewekhape Therie, head of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), and other party officials would lead the movement from Dimapur.

The crusade begins on September 25, to voice the public’s concern about the state’s changing demographics

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) stated that it plans to communicate the public’s concerns and anxieties that Nagaland’s demography will change over time.

“We also fear that multiple governances will ultimately bring famine, increase goons, robberies and destroy the moral code,” it said, painting a picture of disparity between the haves and have-nots’ if the state were to continue with corruption.

In addition, the Nagaland Congress claimed that the people of the state had lost the courage to stand up for noble causes, ethnic values, and credentials, claiming that they are now considered a commodity by the administration of the day.

The NPCC said, “Congress cannot change the government, neither can Congress save Nagaland. Congress can only voice the aspirations of the public while the power lies in the hands of the voters,”.

It also feared that the Naga people’s faith would be jeopardized. “We are slowly moving away from Christianity.  Many Christians no longer practice Christianity anymore.  They are free to worship idols and do rituals that are against our religious beliefs.

However, Congress, which has been in opposition for 18 years, does not have funding to promote the campaign and has appealed to the public for donations and contributions.
